There are 2 major types of Solar Water Heater-
- 1. Flat Plate Solar Water Heater-
- These are the most common type of solar collectors used in both active and passive solar water heater systems. They consist of a flat, rectangular box with a transparent cover (usually glass) and absorber plates to capture and transfer solar heat to the water or heat transfer fluid.
- 2. Evacuated Tube Solar Water Heater-
- These collectors consist of rows of glass tubes, each containing an absorber plate. The vacuum inside the tubes insulates the system and allows it to operate efficiently even in cold weather or under cloudy conditions.
